Locksmithing
Around here, the thing you’re most likely to need me for is to have keys changed. We have quite a high turnover even in houses, let alone rooms, flats and apartments. So if you just moved in, I’m afraid that the likelihood is that several people have keys to your new abode. But you don’t have to change most locks; usually you can just change the barrel or the levers for half the price.
(And if there’s anyone around here with lower prices than me, then very likely they wear Levis, spurs and eat a lot of beans.)
The next most likely service is a security upgrade. More and more insurance policies are insisting on things like five-lever mortice deadlocks. First, I can help you deceipher the terminology and secondly, of course, carry out any required upgrades.
Locks can break. But again, you might not have to replace the whole thing. A defective rimlock, for example, can be repaired or replaced without necessarily changing the barrel and without, therefore, needing to get new keys to everyone.
If you have to give keys out frequently — to cleaners, dog walkers, etc. — we can supply restricted locks and keys that cannot be copied at any other locksmith or key cutter.
